Jose Quintana has been mentioned in trade rumors for nearly a year, but the belief is now that he'll remain with the Chicago White Sox until closer to the mid-season deadline.

The Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates have long been the perceived favorites for the left-hander, but the St. Louis Cardinals have quietly been showing interest in a deal.

St. Louis has the combination of young players and prospects to make a trade for Quintana work.

The Chicago White Sox have traded Peter Bourjos to the Tampa Bay Rays, according to multiple reports.

The deal opens up a spot for prospect Jacob May on Chicago's Major League roster.

The reports have cash considerations heading to the White Sox.

The Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates have been linked to the left-hander as of late.

Quintana is owed $15.85 million in total over the next two seasons and two more club options at $10.5 million apiece that add up to four years at $36.85 million.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are willing to trade Nick Ahmed if a trade surfaces.

The club added Ketel Marte and Daniel Descalso to their infield this offseason and Ildemaro Vargas has emerged as an option this spring as well.

The San Diego Padres reportedly have had interest in Ahmed in the past.

The Tampa Bay Rays "continue to have conversations" about adding Derek Norris, who was placed on waivers by the Washington Nationals over the weekend.

Washington was known to be shopping Norris after the signing of Matt Wieters, but couldn't find anyone willing to take on his $4.2 million salary.

The Chicago White Sox continue to scout members of the New York Yankees farm system for a potential trade.

New York has been linked to Chicago's Jose Quintana for a majority of the offseason.

The Yankees have some organizational depth at both first base and shortstop.

Dayton Moore has informed outside executives that if the Kansas City Royals aren't contending in July, they'll hold a fire sale including core position players Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas.

"We would have to consider it [a fire sale] if things do not go right," Moore said.

The New York Mets, for example, are expected to pursue Cain if things don't work out in center field with Curtis Granderson and Juan Lagares. Moustakas could also be a target if there are issues at third base related to David Wright's health.

The New York Yankees are making it known that they are willing to accept trade offers for Rob Refsnyder, according to a report.

Refsnyder was seen as a potential long-term solution at second base, but the Yankees acquired Starlin Castro last offseason which made Refsnyder a utility man.

The 26-year-old was a fifth round pick in 2012.

Reports surfaced during the offseason that the New York Mets and Detroit Tigers discussed a swap involving Michael Conforto and J.D. Martinez, but that doesn't appear to have been the case.

A source told Anthony DiComo of MLB.com "emphatically" that the notion was not seriously discussed at all.

The Mets did, however, touch base with the Tigers regarding Martinez prior to re-signing Yoenis Cespedes.
